BILLING POLICIES

Payment is accepted by any of these banks:Billing Payments

When paying your bills, please present the Water Bill to any collecting banks for proper validation of the Official Receipt portion of your water bill to acknowledge your payment.

Only full payment are accepted by the banks.

Bills with expired due dates and/or partial payments shall be paid at the MIWD main office.

A penalty of 20% will be charge to bills that are not paid on or before due date.

Water Service may be disconnected immediately if payment is not made after due date.

If due date falls on a Saturday,Sunday or Holiday, the due date will aumatically be on the next working day.

Collection at MIWD closes at 4:30 p.m.

 

POLICIES ON WATER SERVICE CONNECTION

Metro Iloilo Water District will install a water meter, whenever possible at a conspicuous place and that the representatives/s of the Water District shall have access at all time to the premises and building for the purpose of reading and inspecting the meter, connections, etc., or for enforcing the rules and regulations of the Water District.

The concessionaires should pay the Water District all the established charges and water meter maintenance fee required prior to the installation of a water connection and to provide all necessary materials needed for the said installation at their own expense.

The concessionaire is held responsible for allowing any person, firm or corporation to tap from his/her service connection after the meter without having made an application from the Water District for a water service.

The jurisdiction and responsibility of the Water District will be from the distribution line up to the meter only; however, the owner shall provide the necessary pipes and fittings in case replacement of the service pipe is needed. The District will in no case be liable for a damage caused by the water leaking after the water meter.
The ownership of the water service connection to be installed shall revert back to the District immediately upon the notice of death of the concessionaire or upon discovery that the water service connection and/or house or building it serves is discovered to have been sold the District of such sale or transfer of the water service connection to the new owner be effected upon presentation of the document of conveyance or sale and compliance with office requirements.

That after receipt of notice from the District notifying to effect transfer of ownership to the new owner and if the new owner fails to transfer the ownership to him, the District within ten (10) days from receipt by new owner of notice from the District, the District may close the water service connection.

Water bills are payable to Metro Iloilo Water District and will become due on the billing date indicated in the bill and shall be delinquent twenty (20) days thereof (Due Date) for which a penalty of 20% for late payment will be added to the amount thereof. Failure to receive a bill does not relieve me of my liability and service maybe discontinued without further notice if payment of the bill is not made within due date.

In the case of commercial and/or residential building leased and/or occupied by other persons, both the owner of the building and the occupant thereof shall be signatories of this Contract and shall be jointly and severally liable for the bills and damages.

POLICY ON ILLEGAL CONNECTION

That it is a criminal offense to temper with water meters or steal water as embodied in Sec. 31 (d) of Presidential Decree 198, as amended otherwise known as the Provincial Water Utilities Act of 1973;
