can we settle water bill accounts aside from MIWD?
When
can the concessionaires pay their water bill accounts?
- Each
zone has a corresponding due dates being indicated at the water bills
of the concessionaires. The concessionaires must pay their water bill
accounts on or before their respective due dates to avoid the penalty.
- Due
Dates
If
the payment is not paid on or before the due date, what is the penalty?
- 10%
charge in the amount due of the concessionaires.
How
about if the due date fall on Saturday, Sunday or Holidays?
- The
concessionaires could pay their accounts on the next working day.
When,
why and how does averaging of water bill accounts happen?
- Averaging
of water bill accounts happen when the meter is defective and if the
meter could not be read and/or in case of stolen meter. It is done
by adding the latest 3 months consumption of the concessionaires and
by dividing the sum by 3.
How
much is the installation fee for a water service connection?
- A minimum
of P2,500.00 for a typical SACO connection.
How
would the consumers safeguard their water meter?
- Your
water meter should be kept in clean surroundings.
- Avoid
dumping garbage at your meter site. This will damage the meter and
will create difficulty in reading.
- To
avoid corrosion, always keep your water meter from being covered
by soil.
- A meter
box is provided to ensure safety of your water meter and to keep
it from foreign objects and/or activities that may obstruct or hinder
its smooth revolution.
- For
our mutual benefit, please see to it that the seals are intact and
must never be broken. If seals are destroyed or broken, please inform
us immediately so that they will be restored.
How
is the water meter read?
- Straight-reading
type meter:
- Read
only the black numbers. These indicate the volume of consumption
in cubic meters.
- To
determine consumption for the current month, deduct the previous
month’s reading from the cumulative reading.
- It
is advisable to monitor your daily consumption to be aware if there
is an increase in your daily usage.
When
is water service connection illegal?
- Illegal
connections can be identified by the following:
- Installation
of a water service connection without proper authority from the
MIWD. Any person who wanted to have a water service connection should
visit the office for proper application and approval of a water
connection.
- Tampering
of water meters or using “jumpers” or other devices
whereby water is stolen.
- Repair/installation
(before the meter) made by persons not connected with or has no
authority from the MIWD.
- Installation
of the water system to a household different from the one stated
in the application.
- Transferring
of the water meter and the tapping point without permission from
the MIWD.
- Reopening
of closed services without authority or permission from the MIWD.
What
is the penalty for those who have illegal connections?
- Under
the existing MIWD policy, illegal water service connection for residential
classification are fined of P3, 000.00 and P6, 000.00 for first and
second offenses, respectively. Third time offenders will be prosecuted
criminally provided that the said offenders are same persons and the
actual users of the service connections.

Commercial
water users found to have illegal connections are slapped with a fine
of P6, 000.00 for the first offense and closure of service connection
for the second offense. Offenders for the third time will be prosecuted
criminally provided that the said offenders are same persons and the
actual users of the service connections.

- Non-revenue
